Mike Coleman & Alby Walker Interviews Now On-line Due to a technical issue we were originally unable to get the interview with Mike Coleman online. We have now rectified this. Alby Walker is a busy guy. He is contesting both the General and Local Elections as an Independent Candidate. He is likely to face opposition from his former colleagues in the British National Party.

Last night I attended the Youth Hustings event organised by the YMCA. Firstly I’d like to congratulate Nicky Twemlow of the YMCA for organising such a great event for the young people of the city.

I ought to explain who Niccolo Machiavelli was. No he is not a footballer or a mobster although his reputation is a dire one and rests on one gift that he gave the man he was serving in Florence Cesare Borgia. Its a small book called the Prince.

Staffordshire Police are appealing for the mother of the new born baby found outside the Islamic Centre in Shelton on Saturday to Come forward. Detectives are renewing their appeal for the mother of a baby left outside a mosque in Stoke-on-Trent to come forward. Tomorrow, Saturday 13 March, marks the one week anniversary of the baby being left outside the Islamic Centre in Shelton.

Residents are being given the chance to find out how a £177m scheme will transform six city housing estates. Stoke-on-Trent City Council has been provisionally allocated the money under round six of the government’s private finance initiative. It paves the way for more than 700 homes to be built and environmental improvements to be made in the suburban estates of Abbey Hulton, Bentilee, Blurton, Chell Heath and Fegg Hayes, Meir and Norton.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Clean Air Superheroes are hoping that people spring clean the air by pledging to use greener forms of transport. The efforts of Staffordshire social workers are being praised ahead of World Social Work Day next Tuesday, March 16. The annual awareness day draws attention to the contribution social workers make to society, often in exceptionally challenging circumstances. Social workers help people who, for all sorts of reasons, need support to live their lives. Social work is about building relationships with people and helping them to take control of their personal situation.

NHS Stoke on Trent have said that around 2000 patent records of people having physiotherapy at the Haywood Hospital might have been destroyed in error. The records involved are for those who had treatment in 2006 but have been discharged. Official have apologized to those affected and said procedures have been changed, ensuring that it will not happen again. Any patient who is concerned about this have been asked to contact The PCT’s Information Governance Department.

Reports are reaching us that the NEC and Regional Office of the Labour Party are trying to impose an all woman shortlist on Stoke-on-Trent Central following Mark Fisher MP's decision to stand down on health grounds. The NEC and the regional officers will also have a massive say on who goes forward to the Constituency for selection. Members of the NEC and the Regional Office will advertise the Vacancy.
