Stoke-on-Trent City Council CCTV car has again been spotted parking illegally while carrying out enforcement operations.
The car which has previously been reported on the My Tunstall website for being spotted parked on double yellow lines in Hanley was seen parked in a clearly marked loading bay on Huntbach Street near to the Potteries Shopping centre on Saturday.
A specific bay, bounded by white markings and signed to permit loading and unloading by goods vehicles. Parking is not permitted within these bays.
The vehicle as far as we are aware has no special status to allow it to contravene parking regulations, although it is unlikely that it will ever be reported for parking illegally as parking enforcement is carried out by the City Council who are unlikely to report themselves for breaking parking regulations & law.

What I find annoying about this car is it’s never seen in other parts of the city.
In Tunstall I’ve been asking for a couple of years for simple enforcement on one of the towns major routes as people have been parking on a roundabout. Yes, a roundabout. During busy periods, during quite periods it doesn’t matter.
But the problem has never really been tackled by the council, so the police have stepped in and put some cones down to deter people. If the city council is that hard up for cash, why don’t they take note of people’s complaints and send this car out into the other 5 towns. It’s hardly rocket science is it.
Besides, who’s going to be parked in town when you can park on Tesco for free or a minimum shop of a £5 (council – that’s called value for money re:Dimensions/Fenton Manor parking)

There is a bus lane at the top of the road, which if you use it gets you on to Potteries Way a lot quicker than following the route round the back of M&S and out that way.
The council can’t do you for speeding, that needs to be done by the police through the safety partnership.
Parking and bus lane contravention can be done by the council.
You see the same story all over the place, ‘we can do something illegal, while we are issuing you with a fine for doing the same thing’
Have a look at this video

Parking wardens parking illegally while they issue tickets.
“There is a bus lane at the top of the road, which if you use it gets you on to Potteries Way a lot quicker than following the route round the back of M&S and out that way”
Absolutely. My sympathies is ALWAYS for the motorist above the council gestapo officers who are employed to hit them.
In a world in which it seems our road system has been designed to deliberately cause as much inconvenience as possible to its users, I don’t condemn anyone who chooses to cut through a bus lane in places such as this. Indeed, its an understandable choice that many people already take if they can get away with it and which many more would if they could.
With Stoke City Council now seemingly being hit by the motorist for its greed when it comes to parking enforcement (represented by a LOWER than expected take from increased parking costs, and the motorist being cleverer when it comes to legally avoiding the city council restrictions) its about time they stopped seeing the motorist as an endless cash cow and started to lay off the people they have enforcing these regulations-including this spy car.
Increasingly, people are voting with their feet and simply not coming into the city if they can possibly avoid it. I’m one of them. So long as this council’s greed continues and they carry on trying to hit the motorist, we will never attract business and investment.
OMG, it had to happen. Well said Shaun.
Here we go again Sean… a major disagreement.
So your sympathy is always with the motorist? Would that be the ones who now seem it’s perfectly reasonable to park on half the pavement to allow their moron brethren clearer access? The ones who curse speed cameras, but salute cctv when it helps to catch out rioters or (strangely) the authorities? The ones who are convinced pedestrians NEVER have right of way?
Let’s just dispense with the Highway Code and turn our streets into Deathrace 2000 – afterall my Tory friend, cars support thousands of jobs… right?
The most dangerous part of any car is the nut just behind the steering wheel.
BTW… the country that produced Hitler gave us rocket science and X rays, the country that produced Napoleon gave us safe milk and Joe le Taxi (the video of which was a major contribution to civilisation when I was 19) – I admit you’ve got me with Belgium.
But two out of three ain’t bad…
what annoys me about this paticular spot. is that the bus lane may soon be re-routed away from huntbach. so it seems it grab the money while they can
You also forgot Italy which produced the greatest civilisation Europe has ever seen, from a city to masters of the Med.
I’m not too surprised that we disagree.
YOU are not surprised that we disagree?
Who’s expecting us to “Cower-down” to anyone? I don’t feel particularly under seige by the rest of the world.
An honest question : do you bedwet?
Calm down Tony John. With your attack of verbal diarrhea, you are keeping this site going all by yourself at the moment.
Have a bit more thought and take some deep breath’s before commenting.
More thoughts and deep breaths? You call Thatcher (spit) The Great Lady? No doubt lionise that fat Tory drunk Churchill, who published a penny rag and organised opposition to the 1926 general strike… describing working people as “rats”.
But still… “he won WW2″… no he effiing didn’t! No more than your hero Wren ‘built’ St Pauls.
To be attacked by an empty carcass like you is akin to a BAFTA to me S.E.A.N.
Perfect example of the retarded, Tory mindset off Cameron today : he wants to cut benefits for already dysfunctional families, who can’t get their kids to attend school – genius!
No mention of any sanctions against families with the same difficulty, who aren’t on benefits.
